Matthew M. Hayashi is an actor, director, designer, musician, and playwright born and raised in Southern California. Matt received the alternate national finalist spot for the KCACTF SDC Directing Fellowship in 2020 for his work on Jose Rivera’s References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot. In 2021, he was the KCACTF SDC national finalist for Region 8 for his work on Mara Nelson-Greenberg’s Do You Feel Anger?. His directing credits include John Patrick Shanley’s Danny & The Deep Blue Sea, Shakespeare’s King Richard III, and the World Premiere of As We Know Them by Matt Katterhagen. Matt’s playwright credits include Sentences (2018 Fullerton College Director’s Festival- Best of Fest, 2018 Hollywood Fringe), and Sustained Release (Wayward Underground 2021, OC-Centric’s New Play festival 2022-Finalist, The Larking House 2022-World Premiere).
