Artist Profile
Rachel is a proud Resident Artist of Chance Theater, and has been a fixture here since her first show with us in 2014. She has been featured twice at the Segerstrom Concert Hall as a soloist with the Pacific Symphony in the family concert series. She has also garnered accolades across Southern California, earning the 2019 “Musical Theater Star of the Year” title from StageSceneLA and a Chancie Award for “Best Supporting Actor In A Musical” at the Chance. Previous roles at the Chance include Siobhan in The Curious Incident of Dog In The Night-Time, Mother in Ragtime, the Witch in Big Fish, Marmee in Little Women–The Broadway Musical, Ladybug in James and the Giant Peach, Mrs. Clancy in Fancy Nancy, The Musical, and as Camila Rosario in In The Heights. Rachel has also shone brightly beyond the Chance, with standout performances like Diana in Next To Normal with The Wayward Artist Theater Company, and as a lead actor in a 6-month run of Latinologues at Bailiwick Repertory Theater in Chicago. Rachel is also an enthusiast of new works and has done many staged readings, including Diana Burbano’s Policarpa at Grand Central Arts Center, and Fabulous Monsters at San Diego Repertory Theater. Rachel holds an MFA in Musical Theater Performance from The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and a BA in Theater from California Lutheran University. She currently resides in Orange County with her husband and their three daughters. To her family: “I love you the mostest.”
