Synopsis: At once fanciful, timeless, yet starkly contemporary, this brand new romantic tale follows one Dragon, her need for freedom, her desire for human love, and the men who get trapped in between. Emergent artist Davis brings a uniquely simple voice to a centuries old myth, clashing lore with love, and eternity with yearning.

Kiss Me, Kate
When: Sat, May 16 at 11am or Tue, May 19 at 7pm
Prepare: 32 bars from a classic Broadway musical, uptempo or ballad
Bring: Headshot, resume and sheet music. Accompanist provided.
Rehearsals: Begins July 6. Weekday evenings and weekends.
Performances: August 18-22 at Peppertree Park, as part of the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts’ Broadway in the Park summer series
Pay Rate: $25-$50 per performance, plus a small rehearsal stipend
Synopsis: Kiss Me Kate, with music by Cole Porter and lyrics and book by Samuel and Bella Spewack, is a play within a play featuring a troupe of actors at a theatre on opening night of The Shrew, a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Taming of the Shrew. It blends operetta, musical comedy, vaudeville and throws in a helping of hi-jinks. The story is a basic boy had girl, tries to get girl back, loses girl and gets her back again with the happy ending of a 1948 musical extravaganza.
