The holiday season is a time to sparkle, shine, and embrace a little extra “fanciness,” just like our favorite fashionista, Fancy Nancy! In the spirit of our upcoming show, Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas, we’ve put together a list of holiday-inspired words that add a touch of Fancy Nancy magic to every merry moment. So, get ready to sprinkle some seasonal pizzazz with these delightful, fancy words!

Splendiferous

Definition: Extra fancy, beyond fabulous! Use it whenever something is over-the-top amazing. Example: “This gingerbread house is splendiferous!” Whether it’s decorating a tree or crafting holiday cards, bring out your inner artist to create splendiferous masterpieces that would make Fancy Nancy proud.

Bedazzled

Definition: Decorated with sparkle and shine. Example: “I bedazzled my Christmas sweater with sequins!” From glittery garlands to twinkling lights, bedazzling everything in sight is a sure way to make the season shine as bright as Nancy’s love for all things glamorous.

Posh

Definition: Fancy and elegant, perfect for when you’re feeling extra stylish! Example: “We’re setting a posh holiday table this year!” Bring a little posh flair to your family gatherings. Try setting your holiday table with special china or folding napkins into festive shapes—it’s all about adding that touch of elegance that would make Nancy say, “Ooh la la!”

Dazzling

Definition: So bright and beautiful it almost makes you say, ‘Wow!’ Example: “Look at the dazzling Christmas lights!” Dazzling holiday lights transform a cozy home into a winter wonderland. Who could resist the charm of a house that shines bright enough to light up the whole neighborhood?

Exquisite

Definition: Extra special, fancy, and beautiful—perfect for describing holiday treats! Example: “These holiday cookies are simply exquisite!” Bake up some joy with treats so beautiful they’re almost too pretty to eat (almost!). Decorate sugar cookies, cupcakes, and gingerbread with delicate designs worthy of Fancy Nancy’s “exquisite” approval.

Effervescent

Definition: Full of sparkle and energy, just like holiday cheer! Example: “The party was so effervescent, with laughter and music filling the room!” Let your holiday gatherings be effervescent celebrations filled with joy, laughter, and festive music. A lively atmosphere is key to a memorable holiday, just as Nancy would say, “Always celebrate in style!”

Luxurious

Definition: Fancy, indulgent, and oh-so-special! Perfect for describing cozy blankets or hot cocoa. Example: “I wrapped up in a luxurious blanket by the fire. So cozy!” Treat yourself to a luxurious moment or two this season, whether it’s sipping hot cocoa by the fire or snuggling into a plush blanket. After all, the holidays are for indulging in little moments of joy.
